I am a social work major. I had to take a foreign culture class to satisfy a language deficiency. I chose African culture because it has always intriqued me. Our instructor is Dr.Barbara Offmanof Cleveland State University, in Clevleand, Ohio. What an excellent teacher she is. She has assigned a research project to the students. I was fortunate enough to study the Maasai. What an adventure!!! I happened across your page while doing an Alta Vista search. Thank you for your efforts on behalf of Kenyan culture. Wishing you well in your work!

I'm a Kenyan who is pursuing a major in business and economics at West Virginia university. This page has thrilled me kwasababu ya vitu viwili.First is the muzuriness and brilliance of its construction and second is the number of people world wide who seem to know alot about Kenya and also love it. This makes me as a mwanainchi very proud indeed and glad to be a Kenyan damu. I am a 19 year old kenyan, luo by tribe(kel uru weche osiepega) and was once a patcherian(cleared in 1996) ie Nairobi School kwa wale hawaelewi. This is all i had to say otherwise hii page ni kiboko yao(Mombasa is my hometown)

Hamjambo na habari zenu! Ukurasa wenu ni johari ya dhati! Ahsanteni sana kwa kazi yenu! I've never been to Africa, but I have many Kenyan friends here in Moscow. I've been studying Swahili for 3 years at the University. Also I have a great collection of African music. I would like to communicate with Swahili speakers all over the world by using e-mail. I can speak English, Swahili, German and, of course, Russian. Thanks again and 'kwa heri ya kuonana'!

I still consider myself to be "from Kenya." I plan to return one day and reacquaint myself with this beautiful country. The site is marvellous. Very well designed and very informative. Keep up the good work. And if anyone knows how Gor Mahia is doing in the league, please let me know. Asante sana, Chirayu.

I have read about Africa and in particular, Kenya, since I was a teenager. I have especially enjoyed historical titles from the Safari period. I am planning to spend a month there in the early stages of my retirement with my wife. I have begun to look for any info that would help me make the correct decisions in relation to this trip. At this time I am not intending to take any of the pre-planned tours with their large numbers of people. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Dave

I was in Peace Corps in 1980-81. I taught math at Kinango and Msumarini schools on the coast. I learned Swahili and have used it with Ethiopians I have worked with so I has been somewhat useful. I have lost contact with everyone except one. If anyone knows whereabouts of Charles Ndegwa, approx 40yrs, or Sebastion Ombiro from Kakamega district let me know. Hope to go back and visit in the next few years. I have very good memories about Kenya and it is good to find this page and the information at www.africaonline.co.ke/

What a serendipitous shock -- stumbling upon your website. I lived in Mombasa in 1978-80, and taught at Mombasa Baptist High School, as a Journeyman. I've been grossly remiss in maintaining contact with the Disons and Musens, and hope you will let them know I left a message. The e-mail address is my wife's; she'll pass on any response. I hope the WWW will provide a means of re-establishing friendships. Kwaheri

Back again. Just read your sports page comments about the popularity of soccer in Kenya. One of Kenya's all-time greatest sports heroes (up there with Kipchoge Keino) is JOE KADENGE, their greatest soccer player.(Ask any Kenyan who has ever kicked a soccer ball.) Sadly, Joe is now driving a taxi in Nairobi. Please help spread the word aboutthis great man. Perhaps a little publicity will help bring him the honor and dignity he deserves. Thank you.

What a wonderful service. Met my wife in Kenya when I was teaching there in 1963, the eyar of independence. What an exciting time to be in Kenya, just before and after independence. Was teaching at the Kapsabet Boys School in Nandiland. Would like to visit again. Hope there may be some of my students or fellow teachers out there that might contact me through your web page. Thanks for a breath of Kenya air and great memories. Wes Brewer

Hello.....Nice to discover you on the Internet. We also lived in Kenya from 1976 through 1981. I was a dentist at the SDA Medical Centre on Millimani Road (across from the Pan Afric Hotel) in Nairobi. I had lots of patients from Rift Valley Academy and the expatriate community. (Do you know the Phil Lasse family? They are good friends of ours). We plan on going to Kenya in November '98. Our first return visit since leaving, we are sooooooooo excited, to see friends and Kenya again. Thanks again for the web page.
