| The Kenyan heroes seem
to have gotten off to bad start for this years rally. Patrick Njiru is back, after talking
of retiring at the end of the rally last year. He has hopes of reclaiming a win. Kenya's
other favorite hero, who was also one of the all time favorites to win this year is no
longer entered in the rally. Last week, Ian Duncan encountered a freak motorcycle accident
which broke his right leg below the knee. Ian had just kick started his motorcycle and
started to ride off when the kickstart bar kicked back and ripped through the muscle and
smashed the bone. After surgery last Tuesday, Ian was in good hopes. He commented that he
would be there to cheer on his Toyata teammates with his walking cane. |
